OLSOM has been a reliable independent software vendor and solution provider for manufacturing and logistics companies of different scales since 2011. To strengthen our Engineering Team, we are looking for a Head of Engineering to lead our engineering organization, shape our technology strategy, and drive the technical evolution of our MES platform. Our product is a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) built on .NET and JavaScript / Angular, helping manufacturing companies digitalize and optimize their production processes.

Role responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and scale the Engineering Team, building a strong culture of ownership, technical excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Own engineering delivery and ensure successful execution of the Product Roadmap
  • Define technical solutions and architecture aligned with product strategy and business goals
  • Own and evolve the technology roadmap and technical strategy of the product
  • Ensure the scalability, performance, reliability, security, and overall technical quality of the MES platform
  • Make and drive key architecture and technology decisions, balancing long-term sustainability with business needs
  • Identify and proactively manage technical risks, architectural bottlenecks, and technical debt
  • Establish and continuously improve engineering standards, development processes, testing, CI/CD, code quality, and documentation
  • Plan engineering capacity and participate in hiring, team development, and organizational scaling
  • Partner closely with Business Development, Product & Marketing, Services, and other stakeholders to align technology with business and customer needs
  • Evaluate and introduce opportunities for AI, automation, and emerging technologies that can improve the product and engineering efficiency
  • Lead the resolution of critical technical issues, escalations, and complex engineering challenges

Skills and experience

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, including experience in an Engineering Leadership / Management role
  • Strong technical background in .NET / C# and good understanding of JavaScript / Angular
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture, scalable systems, and enterprise application design
  • Strong product mindset with the ability to understand customer needs and business goals and translate them into effective technical solutions
  • Ability to balance customer value, business priorities, technical excellence, and delivery speed
  • Experience with APIs, databases, cloud technologies, CI/CD, and modern software development practices
  • Proven experience building, developing, and scaling engineering teams
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions aligned with product and business goals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • English — Upper-Intermediate or higher

Nice to have

  • Experience with MES, Manufacturing IT, Industrial Software, or IoT
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and enterprise systems
  • Experience working with production, operational, or real-time data
  • Experience with complex integrations and industrial environments
  • Experience implementing AI or automation in software development or business processes
